The NCC unit at our institution operated by the Vijaya High School, with over 100+ students, works efficiently for the development of the cadets in order to inculcate in them a sense of commandership, unity and indulge them in various social welfare activities to build qualities of leadership and selfless service . Many activities such as tree plantation, trekking social rallies are conducted regularly to build the sense of service-hood. The unit also contributes towards the maintenance of discipline in the institutional functions. VGI Cadets indulge themselves in the weekly parades and on National festivals rendering the Guard of honour to the dignitaries with their extremely beautiful performance and formations that are overwhelming with nationalistic pride and sense of patriotism. They also take initiatives to maintain school discipline during lunch hours and assembly.
The National Service Scheme (NSS) at VEIT Degree College aims to promote social responsibility and community service among students. The NSS provides opportunities for students to engage in various social, environmental, and welfare activities that contribute to the overall development of society. Through initiatives like blood donation camps, environmental awareness programs, health camps, and rural development projects, NSS encourages students to become active participants in creating positive change. It serves as a vibrant platform to highlight student achievements, activities and creative expressions. It offers students an avenue to showcase their talents through writing, artwork, and event coverage while celebrating both academic and extracurricular successes. Beyond fostering creativity, the newsletter nurtures a sense of community and professional development by providing hands-on experience in digital media, writing, and teamwork. Widely appreciated by parents and alumni, it strengthens their bond with the institution while empowering students to collaborate, engage with peers and faculty, and contribute meaningfully to the broader community.
The Department of Physical Education and Sports is dedicated to discovering and nurturing athletic talent by providing students with excellent facilities, including a Gym, Sports Room and Courts for volleyball, Badminton and Table Tennis.
The department encourages participation in sports competitions at college and intercollegiate level to university, state, and national levels, with students excelling in events such as Kho-kho, Cricket, Volleyball, Badminton, Kabaddi, Swimming, Chess, and Carrom.
