History
With a view to impart quality science education to the needy students Vijaya composite Pre-university College was started with just two sections in 1998. Today it has seven sections each at the first and second Pre-university levels. In recognition of its excellent infrastructural facilities and the sustained achievements it has recorded over the years the Pre-university education board in Karnataka has accorded “A” grade status to Vijaya composite Pre-University College.
Vijaya Composite Pre-University College, known for its quality education and academic excellence aims to shape the achievers of future and equp them with robust knowledge, strong intrinsic values, state of the art study skills and top class capabilities. The college offers best of intrastructure, excellent library and laboratory and an enabling environment for learning. It has a proactive faculty base consisting of highly qualified, reputed and knowledgeable teachers who are always accessible. Extensive student interaction is encouraged throug seminars, guest lecture and project works. The college provides all the tools needed by students for success and offers blueprints to help them build successful and rewarding future. The students can build an outstanding career and achieve their dreams only when the students and their parents willingly acknowledge their responsibility and join hands with the college in the journey towards a shining future.
Activities
SEMINAR PROGRAMMES:
To motivate students towards higher learning students are encouraged to present papers in the subject / topic of their choice. The papers are presented before a gathering of students and staff. The exercise builds the necessary confidence among students and improves their communication skills. The best seminar papers selected through a diligent process in published at the end of the year by the college.
PROJECT WORKS:
Students are encouraged to select science project of their choice and work on them under the guidance of the staff. The college has created separate laboratory and library facilities for such project work by the students.
OLYMPIAD:
The Olympiad programme in India in conducted through Homi Bhabha centre for science education. The purpose of the programme is to promote excellence in Science education among Pre-University students. The selected students will participate in the international Olympiads in Physics, Chemistry, Biology and Astronomy. The college provides all the information and support to the interested students.
GUEST LECTURES:
Guest lectures are arranged regularly to keep the students informed of the developments in different fields of science technology. Eminent Scientist from different scientific, research and industrial establishment are invited to programme.
COMPETITIVE EXAMINATIONS:
The College provides all the requisite information and encourage the students to take the examinations for admission to IIT, IISC, BIT, SAT, IISS etc., Two practice tests are conducted for students taking the CET.
STUDENTS WELFARE CENTRE:
The Students welfare centre is devoted to provide counseling service to students facesd with problems like stress, anxiety, maladjustment inferiority complex, lack of self confidence etc. which affect the academic performance of the students.
EXTRA CURRICULAR ACTIVITIES:
The students studying at Vijaya Composite Pre-University College not only excel in academics but perform equally well in other fields. Students are provided with ample opportunities to showcase their creative talents and develop skills through sporting events, cultural shows, festivals, debates, seminars etc.

Prelude
The Vision Development Center of Vijaya Education Institute Trust was formed with purpose of making education more relevant and meaningful. It aims at empowering the teachers with knowledge, methodologies, skills and techniques to meet the continuously emerging challenges in the field of education. It works towards bringing creativity, inspire enthusiasm, commitment, excitement and enjoyment in teaching and learning activities.
Proposal
To add a new dimension to the activates of VDC, The President and CEO, VEIT, has put into place a new system to provide appropriate financial and other supports to well thought-out academic projects of the teaching faculty. The purpose of the new initiative is to catalyse and support academic projects which will provide an opportunity to teachers to exhibit their creativity and innovativeness. The projects which will effectively utilise the infrastructural facilities created under Vision Development programme are required to be simple, practical, time bound, innovative, relevant to the current educational situation and contribute to the improving the quality of education particularly in classroom teaching and learning processes. The projects will also develop more effective communication methods, tool and technologies for use in the class room situation.
Methodology
The project will be commissioned from the academic year 23010-2011. However much before that, interested teachers will submit the projects proposals, complete in all respects to the principal, VCPUC before 15th April, every year. A Core Committee, chaired by President and CEIO, will screen the proposals and accord sanction to the appropriate proposals. Members of the faculty whose projects are approved are expected to start working on the ;projects from 1st June, each year, Complete them before the end of the year and submit the reports. There is a proposal to publish the selected projects for wider use by the teaching community. Successfully completed outstanding projects will get attractive financial rewards.
Educational projects have an important place in the academic studies. Project provide a flexible frame work for interested teachers to creatively explore the curricular topics and develop communication and technical skills. Faculty projects at pre-university level is an unique initiative of VEIT and it is hoped that the teachers will make the best use of the new initiative.
